What is Spiritism by Allan Kardec
People who have no knowledge of Spiritualism but a superficial, are naturally driven to do certain quests, which would give them a thorough study undoubtedly the solution. But time and often the will, they lack to dedicate themselves to continuous observations. Would want, before undertaking this task, at least know what it is and if it's worth it if occupy. It seemed useful, therefore, to present, in a controlled environment, to answer some of the fundamental questions addressed to us every day. That is, for the reader, a first initiation, and for us, time gained by waiving constantly repeat the same thing.
The first chapter contains, in the form of dialogues, answers to the most common objections from those who ignore the foundations of the doctrine, and the refutation of the principal arguments of their opponents. This way seemed most convenient, because it has the aridity of dogmatic form.
The second chapter is devoted to a summary of parts of science and experimental practice, on which, in the absence of a complete instruction, the novice observer must direct their attention to judge knowingly. It is somehow the summary of The Book of Mediums. The objections are born, the more frequently the misconceptions that are made, a priori, what is not known. Fix these ideas is to anticipate objections: that is the object of this little writing.
The third chapter can be considered as the summary of The Spirits' Book. It is the solution for the Spiritist Doctrine, a number of problems of the highest interest psychological, moral and philosophical, that are placed daily, and no philosophy which gave yet satisfactory solutions. To seek to resolve them by another theory, and without the key that gives us Spiritism, and will see that they are the most logical answers and what better reason to meet.
This summary is not only useful for beginners that it may, in a short time and without much effort, draw the most essential notions, but it is for the fans to whom it provides the means to respond to the first objection that does not stop him do, and, on the other hand, because here you will find assembled in a controlled environment and under the same examination, the principles they must never lose sight of.
To answer both now and summarily, the question formulated in the title of this booklet, we will say that:
Spiritualism is both a science of observation and a philosophical doctrine. As a practical science, it is the relationships that can be established with the Spirits; philosophy, he understands all moral consequences flowing from these relationships.
You can set it so:
Spiritism is a science that deals with the nature, origin and destination of the Spirits, and their relations with the world body.
